Cymbals crash, horns blare, and fireworks blast into the sky at the Hollywood Bowl’s most thrilling summer tradition. Otto Tausk launches into the Tchaikovsky Spectacular with the regal Polonaise from Euguene Onegin before throwing his endearing enthusiasm into the illustrious Sleeping Beauty Suite. Performing one of the best known and loved piano concertos in the repertoire, Uzbek pianist Behzod Abduraimov keeps spirits high not just “with clarity and power, but with fervor and personal commitment” (New York Classical Review). Pyrotechnics and all, the 1812 Overture brings the Spectacular to a booming finish with the help of the Trojan Marching Band.
